Hometown Heroes Program Committee

The mission of the Summit Hometown Heroes program committee is to recognize and honor local veterans.

Through the program, the names, images and dates of service of participants will appear on banners displayed along city streets from Memorial Day through VJ Day, August 15. The program is funded through private donations; there is no fee to participate.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2023.

Donation Information

There is no fee to participate in the program but tax-deductible donations are being accepted.

To support the Hometown Heroes program donations by check should be made payable to The Summit Foundation and mailed to: Summit Hometown Heroes, P.O. Box 892 Summit, NJ 07902

Welcome to the new 2023 Hometown Heroes!

The Hometown Heroes Program Committee is seeking donations to fund the replacement of the brackets that are used to hang the banners around town each spring and summer that display the names and pictures of Summit's military veterans. Many of the brackets are worn out or broken from reuse.

Donations by check made payable to the Summit Foundation can be mailed to Summit Hometown Heroes, PO Box 892, Summit, NJ 07902. Donations can also be made online at summitforever.org/donate. Click on the "Donate" button and choose "Hometown Heroes" from the dropdown menu.
