Summit Police Department employs a technologically advanced fleet of police vehicles to help keep the community safe. These cars are equipped with the latest law enforcement technology, including rugged Panasonic laptops which serve as the central hub for other instruments such as state-of-the-art E-ticket software and latest generation Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs).

In addition to advanced technologies, police vehicles serve as an officer's mobile office while out on patrol. Advancements in materials and engineering have shown significant improvements in materials and ergonomics which help sustain officer comfort and overall career longevity.

Summit Police Department's Custom D.A.R.E. Car

Summit PD's custom D.A.R.E. car was generously donated by Summit resident Jeffrey Kaufman and his family. The award-winning Dodge Magnum boasts custom two-tone paint work. custom exhaust system. and a super powerful Dodge HEMI engine under the hood.

The D.A.R.E. Car recently won awards for Best Special Purpose Vehicle and Overall Lady's Choice at the 20th Annual Police Cruise Night. West Chester. PA. - one of the largest law enforcement car shows in the tri-state area. Be sure to be on the lookout for the car at special community events and around your school - you won't want to miss it!
