Enjoy Summit for a wide array of entertainment and shopping all within walking distance in downtown Summit, including:

Metered Parking

Summit offers on-street parking for 90 minutes at $1.00 per hour, and 3-hour, five-hour and 12-hour parking for $1 per hour. Express parking is $.25 for 15 minutes.

Time limits range from 15-minutes Express, 30-minutes, 90-minutes, 3-hours, 5-hours and 12-hours all located within the Summit's Business District. Fees are required Monday through Saturday, 8AM to 6PM. There is no meter feeding or meter jumping permitted in the business district.

The public is reminded that yellow lined area are prohibited parking areas and you are subject to ticketing if parked in these areas.

Paid Parking Program - Effective July 1, 2013

One-hour free! Park in the Deforest Avenue lots and enjoy your time in downtown Summit with no need to rush.

  • One-hour free parking for quick and easy shopping
  • Cost $1 per hour for up to five-hours of parking
  • After five hours, cost is $50 maximum
  • Pay with cash, credit card, or your smart phone
  • Ask local merchant about ways to earn customer rewards coupons
  • Ambassadors on hand to assist customers
Fees are required for parking in the Deforest Avenue parking lots, Monday to Saturday, 8AM to 6PM. Parking is free after 6PM and all day Sunday and on designated holidays. There are various ways to pay, either by coins, bills, credit cards or through Parkmobile.

  1. Park and Shop Lot 1 with paid parking at an hourly fee

  4. Tier Garage (ground level) with paid parking for 30 minutes only in designated areas, and up to two hours.
  5. Bank Street Lot with paid parking for 90 minutes only
TIME LIMITS EXPLAINED

Why are there time limits for parking?

The posted time limit on parking is designed to keep spaces open for business customers and area visitors by requiring vehicles to vacate spots once the time limit is reached. Overstaying the limit in non-metered residential streets or adding more money to the meter after reaching the time limit is illegal. These rules have been implemented to best maintain short-term parking availability.
