At its May 3 meeting, Common Council unanimously voted to close Maple Street in both directions from Springfield Ave to the nearest alleyways to allow for outdoor dining. The road will be closed from Thursday, May 5 to Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

New ban prohibits distribution of single-use plastic carryout bags by retail stores/businesses. Grocery stores larger than 2,500 sqft may not provide single-use paper bags, and must provide/sell reusable bags. New law also prohibits use of polystyrene.
