Council Approves Pilot Program to Ban Gas-powered Blowers June 1 to August 31
SUMMIT, N.J., April 7, 2021 – At its meeting on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 Summit Common Council voted to approve an amendment to the municipal noise ordinance that will establish a pilot program banning the use of gas-powered blowers from June 1 to August 31, 2021 in Summit, NJ. The tally was 6 to 1 in favor of the ordinance with Councilmember Lisa Allen casting the only dissenting vote.
At its next meeting on Tuesday, April 20, Common Council will vote on a proposed amendment to the newly-amended noise ordinance creating a hardship exemption application for residents and business owners.
