The Summit Police Department and Summit PBA Local 55 will host a Stuff a Truck community food drive to benefit Louisiana residents impacted by Hurricane Laura. From Friday, October 2 through Saturday, October 17, non-perishable food items may be dropped off at the Summit Area YMCA at 67 Maple Street and the Summit UPS Store at 55 Union Place during regular business hours. On Saturday, October 17, they will host a day-long Stuff a Truck event at Summit High School at 125 Kent Place Blvd. from 8AM to 4PM with contactless drop-off and face coverings required.
The Police Department and PBA Local 55 are requesting donations of bottled water and canned food items, including pasta, rice and dried beans, cans of soup, tuna, salmon, chicken and beef. Baby items such as formula, diapers and wipes. Hygiene products such shampoo, soap and body wash, toilet paper, toothbrushes and toothpaste, as well as cleaning products and paper towels, pet food and blue tarps.
TMX International from Linden, NJ will transport all donated items to Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church in Moss Bluff, LA for distribution.
