[ARCHIVED] Info on mail-in-ballots and polling locations for 7/7 primary election

Summit Office of the City Clerk is providing information on mail-in-ballots and polling locations for the Tuesday, July 7 primary election as indicated by the Union County Board of Elections. As mandated by State of New Jersey Executive Order 144, vote-by-mail ballots for the Tuesday, July 7 primary election will be automatically mailed to all registered Democratic and Republican Party voters. Unaffiliated and inactive voters will receive an application to vote-by-mail. Ballots and applications will include a pre-paid return postage stamp. Sample ballots will not be mailed this year.

The deadline to register to vote in the July 7 primary election is Tuesday, June 16.

The Union County Board of Elections is accepting vote-by-mail ballots from 8AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday. Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day, July 7, and received by Tuesday, July 14 to be counted.

Executive Order 144 requires polling locations to comply with New Jersey State COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. Maintaining a physical distance of six feet from other voters and wearing a mask are required in all polling locations. Postcards containing information on polling locations will be mailed to every registered voter in Summit.

The Union County Board of Elections has designated three polling locations in Summit for in-person voting from 6AM to 8PM on July 7. Voting machines will be available for voters with disabilities.

•    Ward 1 Districts 1 to 6 will vote at Summit High School located at 125 Kent Place Blvd.

•    Ward 1 Districts 7 to 12 will vote at Washington School located at 507 Morris Ave.

•   Ward 2 will vote at the Summit Community Center located at 100 Morris Ave. Districts 1 to 6 will vote in the Guida Gym; Districts 7 to 13 will vote in the Investors Bank Gym.
