[ARCHIVED] Summit’s Fourth of July & Food Truck Festival

Summit’s 69th Annual Mayor’s Fourth of July Celebration will take place on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Soldiers Memorial Field, 5 Myrtle Avenue. This day-long celebration, marked by tradition, will welcome several new additions this year including a Food Truck Festival, new entertainment, and evening carnival rides and amusements.

The day will begin at 9:45 a.m. with the Flag Raising Ceremony; followed by the Children’s Decorated Bicycle Parade at 10 a.m. Rides and amusements as well as children’s entertainment will continue throughout the afternoon until 1 p.m. at which point Memorial Field will close for setup for evening festivities.

Beginning at 6 p.m., event-goers will be welcomed to enjoy evening carnival rides and amusements as well as the Food Truck Festival. Also new this year, a $10 Bounce Pass will grant unlimited access to evening rides, bounce houses, and games. Passes will be available for purchase at the event.

Performing on the main stage at 7:45 p.m. this year will be Barbara Harris of the Toys. The 60’s girl group, Barbara Harris and the Toys is well-known for hit records including “A Lover’s Concerto” and “Attack.” Now, Harris will once again take the stage, singing a variety of soul, pop, jazz, and R&B hits.

The final event of the evening, the Grand Fireworks Display will begin at 9:15 p.m.
