NNO

In the event of rain, National Night Out Against Crime will be rescheduled to Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

The Summit Police Department and Department of Community Programs are hosting Summit’s annual National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 6PM to 9PM on the Village Green, located at 356 Broad St. in Summit, NJ.

Summit joins thousands of communities from around the United States in celebrating National Night Out, a community-building event that takes place annually on the first Tuesday in August. Featuring a variety of municipal, county, state, and federal-level agencies, National Night Out provides an opportunity for community members to view displays and demonstrations by Union County SWAT, NJ State Police, and K-9 along with Summit Police, Fire, EMS, and Public Works.

Food trucks, bounce houses, obstacles courses, a Dunk-a-Cop Tank benefiting a local family and other amusements will open at 6PM, followed by the annual Blessing of the Badges at 7PM. The band Element K will perform on the main stage from 7:15PM to 8:45PM. The Chris Clark Bicycle Stunt Show will perform from 7:30PM to 8PM. A Zumbini fitness demo for kids will take place at 6PM, and a Zumba demo for adults at 8:15PM. Free hot dogs will be provided at Summit PAL food cart.

Summit’s 2019 National Night Out is sponsored by Overlook Medical Center, Sunshine Rehabilitation Center, Paul Ippolito Memorial, and the Summit PAL.
