There will be a Common Council meeting held on Wednesday, February 20. At this meeting, there will be brief presentation by Mark Ozoroski, Director of the Department of Community Programs, on the current status of the new Community Center project.
Ordinance for Introduction
There will be an ordinance introduced on the rate charged by the Summit Police Department for outside traffic control work from a maximum of $60 per hour to $79.84, the current top hourly overtime rate for a patrol officer. This proposed change will not impact monthly contracted vendors and non-profits (non-traffic staffing jobs).
Resolutions for Consideration
There are a few resolutions for consideration. The first resolution appropriates $110,000 to the Parking Utility to cover costs associated with the valet parking contract, a potential parking consultant contract, and other related parking services contracts. The second resolution for consideration will increase the salary of Mark Ozoroski to the level for Department of Community Programs Director. The third resolution addresses a change in the micropaving costs associated with the Milton Avenue, Gloucester Road, and Dale Drive projects. The fourth resolution relates to an application for a Sustainable Jersey grant for environmental projects, including Earth Day cleanup equipment, “Skip the Straw” campaign support, distribution of reusable bags to residents in need, payment for a graduate student to perform carbon footprint calculations. There are also a number of resolutions for consideration that relate to closed session discussions on volunteer appointments, employee injury leave pay, and a tax appeal settlement.
