With this installation, nothing is as it seems, and notions of reality are exposed as mere assumptions, based on perceptions and experiences that may or may not bear any actual relationship to the way the world works. Instead, the viewer enters into a world where the mind is allowed free rein, even as the body remains constrained by the laws of gravity and the sometimes perceptually imperceptible limits that contain it.
Jason Peters is a contemporary artist known for his ability to create transformative environments using found objects, light and space.
Born in Mobile, Alabama in 1977, he was raised in Munich, Germany, and has lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York for over a decade. Peters’ large-scale installations have been exhibited in solo and group shows worldwide.
