[ARCHIVED] City Schedule for Remainder of 2017 Holiday Season

The City of Summit is announcing the schedule for city services and operations for the remainder of the 2017 holiday season.

City offices will be closed on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1, 2018.

Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1, 2018 are parking holidays in Summit with no fees required in lots, garages, or at meters.

Household garbage is collected on all major holidays, if the holiday falls on a regular pickup day.

The City of Summit Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1, 2018. The Transfer Station is open Tuesday through Friday from 7:30AM to 3:45PM and on Saturday from 7:30AM to 4:45PM. It is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Curbside pickup of leaves for the fall season has concluded. Residents may deposit leaves in brown, compostable bags at the Transfer Station any time during the calendar year.

Curbside pickup of Christmas trees will begin on Tuesday, December 26 and will continue through Friday, January 26, 2018. Residents are asked to please remove all decorations and refrain from placing trees in plastic bags at the curb.

Wreaths will not be collected at the curb with Christmas trees. Residents may dispose of wreaths with household trash or at the Transfer Station in the upper level trash pit. Wreaths should not be placed in the compostable materials area on the lower level of the Transfer Station.

Mayor Nora Radest’s office hours on Monday, December 25 have been cancelled. Mayor Radest will hold regular office hours on Wednesday, December 27 and Thursday, December 28 from 9 to 11AM.

Mayor Radest’s 2018 office hours will be held on Wednesday mornings from 9 to 11AM, Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30PM, and Thursday mornings from 10:30AM to 12:30PM. All residents are welcome to attend office hours, no appointment necessary. Schedule changes and cancellations can be found on the city website.
