The Summit Department of Community Programs is sharing information about Share the Fun Club, a free after-school program for Summit residents in grades two through eight that features homework help, arts and crafts, and other activities with full supervision from 3 to 4:30PM five days a week.
During the Community Center renovation project, the Share the Fun Club is being held in two locations for the 2017-2018 school year. The Monday, Wednesday, and Friday program is held at Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 77 Morris Avenue, and the Monday through Friday program is held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 587 Springfield Avenue.
The Share the Fun Club will feature two weekly classes at St. John’s Church beginning in November; both classes are free and open to Summit residents in grades one through eight. On Tuesdays beginning November 14, a yoga class will be held from 3:30 to 4:30PM. On Thursdays beginning November 16, a karate class will be held from 3:30 to 4:30PM. No registration is required for these drop-in classes.
There will be three special activities on Fridays in November and December from 3:30 to 4:30PM at the Share the Fun Club; all classes are open to Summit residents in grades one through eight. Reservation is required and is on a first come, first served basis; email dguidajr@cityofsummit.org to register. Regularly scheduled Share the Fun Club activities will still take place for those not registered for the classes.
