[ARCHIVED] City of Summit Hosting Information Session on New Parking Payment Kiosks

NF parking kiosk library event

The City of Summit is hosting an information session on city parking payment kiosks on Thursday, October 26 from 11AM to noon at the Summit Free Public Library, located at 75 Maple Street. Community members are invited to attend and learn how license plate recognition is used in the payment kiosks, and watch a hands-on demonstration of how to pay for parking using the new system.

The City of Summit first implemented automated license plate technology in November 2016 on Railroad Avenue, and has expanded its use to all municipal lots and garages. Parking enforcement vehicles are equipped with a camera and computer that reads a license plate, checks for a digital permit, and looks up the payment type.

Parking Services staff will be able to answer questions at the information session. There is no fee to attend.

For more information about parking in Summit or to register for a parking permit, please visit cityofsummit.org/parking or contact the Parking Services Agency at parking@cityofsummit.org or 908-522-5100.
