Dear Fellow Summit Residents and Business Owners,
Thank you for your continued patience during the many important road construction projects that the City of Summit initiated over the last six months to make vital infrastructure improvements and repairs.
We have been working in almost every neighborhood in our municipality. From installing curbs, sidewalks and handicapped accessible ramps to painting crosswalks to milling and paving several main streets, our crews completed more than 14 road improvement projects since the beginning of April. Most notably, we were finally able to complete a sidewalk along Springfield Avenue connecting east Summit with the downtown. This much-needed stretch of sidewalk will allow for safe pedestrian traffic for our school children and others who walk or would like to be able to walk along Springfield Avenue.
Our engineering department and city administration have reached out and listened to concerns from many of you. I have received emails from dozens of constituents and endeavored to reply to each of you. I value the opportunity to talk about the issues that matter to you in our community and I encourage you to contact me or city staff about anything you would like to discuss.
I am proud to say that we were able to complete all of the summer projects on schedule and within budget. I know the work has been disruptive but feel confident that you will be as pleased as I am with the outcome.
Again, please accept my sincere thanks for your continued patience.
Kindest Regards,
Nora G. Radest
