[ARCHIVED] Downtown Parking Information

Newsflash Posting Size(2)

Effective immediately, an expanded employee parking area for downtown employees has been added on Summit Avenue between Parmley Place and Whittredge Road at meters covered with green bags. Employees with a digital permit should either prepay for parking through the online permitting system or make daily payments with Parkmobile zone 1840.

On-street payment kiosks have been installed on Broad Street, Cedar Street, Maple Street, Elm Street and Summit Avenue. The single space street meters on these streets will be covered with instructions to “pay at kiosk” until the street meters are eventually removed.  At the payment kiosk, customers will be prompted to enter a vehicle license plate number and to make a payment with exact change or by credit card. Payments can also be made with Parkmobile. Parking Services staff will be available to assist users at each location. Mayor Nora Radest explains how to use the payment kiosks in this video.

Beginning September 6, the following new parking regulations will be implemented for Elm Street between Broad Street and Morris Avenue:

  • Monday to Friday from 5AM to 11AM: By permit only, resident and employee parking with a prepayment, payment at kiosk, or with Parkmobile zone 1827.
  • Monday to Friday from 11AM to 6PM: Public hourly parking with payment at kiosk or with Parkmobile zone 18271.
  • Saturday from 8AM to 6PM: Public hourly parking with payment at kiosk or with Parkmobile zone 18272.
