The City of Summit Department of Community Programs is announcing the schedule for summer movies and concerts on the Village Green.
Presented by Investors Bank, the 2017 Hot Summer Nights Concert Series will feature a variety of bands on the Village Green on Tuesday nights during July and August. This year’s lineup includes Dancin’ Machine on July 11, Daddy Pop on July 18, Brian Kirk and The Jirks on July 25, and The Shots with the Bergen County Firefighters Pipe Band on August 8.
All concerts begin at 7PM and will be accompanied by food trucks as well as free ice cream courtesy of Investors Bank. The second night of the concert series, Tuesday, July 18, will serve as Community Night, welcoming local non-profit organizations to share their mission with the Summit community on the Village Green.
The 2017 Screen on the Green Movie Series will also take place at the Village Green, on Thursday nights throughout July and August. The series will feature The Lego Batman Movie on July 20, Trolls on July 27, Boss Baby on August 3, and Captain Underpants on August 10. The Pizza Vita food truck will be at the Village Green for all movies. Family Dance Parties begin at 7:30 PM and movies start at dark.
The Summit Family Aquatic Center will host two additional Screen on the Green Movie Series events: Finding Nemo on July 10, and Finding Dory on August 28. The SFAC will open to the public at 6PM with the Family Dance Party, and the movies will start at dark. SFAC memberships are not required.
All concert and movie-goers are reminded to bring their own blankets and chairs. Admission to all concerts and movies is free. All events held with the City of Summit are alcohol and tobacco-free events.
