The City of Summit Department of Community Programs is issuing an update on project work that is currently underway at Investors Bank Field.
Turf Field Replacement
Finishing work to the recently replaced turf field is nearly complete. Installation of lacrosse safety netting is expected to be ready for use by Friday, February 24. When weather permits, an anti-static treatment will be applied to the playing field to maximize the ability of the new field to absorb water and create a continuous playable condition.
Bleacher Replacement Project
The bleacher replacement project commenced with the demolition of the existing bleachers and press box. The next phase of this project will involve site work and include the installation of concrete footings. The new bleachers and press box are being manufactured by the Southern Bleacher factory in Graham, Texas; delivery of the new press box, foot and seat boards is expected on March 20. Once the press box and bleachers are installed, the new sound system will be connected. Completed sections of the bleachers will be opened for use once inspected. The anticipated completion date for the project is mid-June, in time for Summit High School graduation. Union County Parks is providing a portable bleacher for use at the field for the duration of the construction project.
