NF snow storm 020817 (1).jpg

Please be advised:

In anticipation of the predicted significant snowstorm, the City of Summit is canceling its recycling operation for Thursday, February 9, 2017. Recycling will be picked up on Saturday, February 11 for all Summit residents. Please have recyclables at the curb by 6AM on Saturday morning.

If the forecast holds, the collection of household garbage will be suspended on Thursday, February 9 and resume on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11, conditions permitting. Unless a path is cleared to trash receptacles, trash will not be able to be collected.

Overnight on-street parking and parking in all municipal lots will be restricted during the storm and during clean-up operations. Vehicles can be parked in the Broad Street and Springfield Avenue Tier garages during the storm but must be removed by 8AM on Friday, February 10 to accommodate employee and commuter parking.

The Dial-a-Truck pickup for Thursday, February 9, is cancelled. To reschedule for the February 16 pickup, please call the Department of Community Services at 908-273-6404. The city will not picking up items on February 16 unless a reschedule request is received by the department. Any items placed at the curb for the February 9 pickup should be removed from the curb.

People are advised to remain at home and avoid driving if possible to allow crews the opportunity to clear the roads.

Please visit cityofsummit.org and the City of Summit on Facebook and Twitter for more information and updates.
