The 2024 Organization Meeting of the Summit Common Council will be held on Wednesday, January 3, at 7:30PM at City Hall, located at 512 Springfield Avenue. The meeting will be broadcast live on the City of Summit YouTube channel and HTTV Comcast channel 36 and Verizon channel 33. Citizens are invited to attend.
At the meeting, Mayor Nora Radest will provide her State of the City Farewell Address and Mayor-elect Elizabeth Fagan will provide her inaugural address. Ward 1 Councilmember-elect Bob Pawlowski, Ward 2 Councilmember-elect Jamel Boyer, and Councilmember-at-Large-elect Kevin Smallwood will be sworn in. Mayor Nora Radest and retiring councilmembers Marjorie Fox, Jaime Levine, and Phyllis Sank will be recognized. Retiring board members and the 2023 Council President will be recognized, and the 2024 mayoral and council appointments for city boards, commissions, and committees will also be announced at the meeting.
A welcome reception will be held at 7PM before the Organization Meeting in the Police Department lobby outside Council Chamber at City Hall. If attending the reception, members of the public should RSVP by December 21 to cityclerk@cityofsummit.org or 908-277-9416.
