Program update: hunting has been rescheduled from Monday 1/23 to Wednesday 1/25 due to inclement weather.
The Union County Department of Parks and Recreation will begin its annual Deer Management Program on Monday 1/9/17 in Watchung Reservation and Passaic River Park.
The program will operate on Mondays from 1/9 to 2/6. Hunters will be in the parks from 5 AM until after dark, but shooting will only occur during daylight hours. Because of the Dr. Martin Luther King holiday, hunting will occur on Weds. 1/18 instead of Mon. 1/16. In the case of inclement weather on any Monday, hunting will be moved to Wednesday of that week. In the case of any inclement weather on Wednesday, hunting will be moved to Friday.
