[ARCHIVED] Uber Ridesharing Program Update

NF Uber Ridesharing Program Tips.jpg

If you are a ridesharing program participant, please note the following tip for scheduling pickups:

•Check the Uber app to determine wait times for requesting a car for morning and return trips. Projected arrival times for drivers are available by checking the app. It is important to properly plan for the car to arrive when you will be ready to leave for the train station in the morning and when your train will arrive at the station in the evening. If the driver has to wait more than two minutes for you to arrive, additional charges may be incurred.

The Parking Services Agency is reporting that the new ridesharing program has generated additional parking for resident and employee permit holders in both the Broad Street garage and Broad Street east lot. As more program participants fully engage in the program, we anticipate increased availability for parking in these locations.

The six-month pilot program is being offered to 100 resident commuters, and is currently full. A waiting list has been established and we encourage residents to sign up; if the program is successful and there is interest, the city will expand it.
