[ARCHIVED] Paving of Downtown Roads Scheduled for September 20 through 26

The City of Summit is announcing the milling and paving of roads in the Central Retail Business District (downtown) will begin on Tuesday, September 20 at 8PM and be completed by Monday, September 26, weather permitting. All work will be completed between the hours of 8PM and 6AM.

To accommodate the work on Springfield Avenue, the public parklet located in front of Tito’s Burritos & Wings and Batavia Café will be temporarily disassembled and restored the following week once work is complete.

Tuesday, September 20: Union Place and Beechwood Road from Union Place to Springfield Avenue, and sections of Bank Street.

The tentative work schedule is as follows:

-Wednesday, September 21: Springfield Avenue west towards Beechwood Road. Beechwood Road from Springfield Avenue to DeForest Avenue, and Maple Street from Springfield Avenue to DeForest Avenue. Work will also continue on Union Place, and on Beechwood Road from Union Place to Springfield Avenue, and Bank Street.

-Thursday, September 22: Springfield Avenue and sections of Woodland Avenue.

-Friday, September 23: Maple Street from Springfield Avenue to railroad bridge. Continue Springfield Avenue at Beechwood Road to Kent Place Blvd.

-Monday, September 26: Finish remaining streets.
