SUMMIT, NJ, July 22, 2016 – The City of Summit is issuing a commuter alert for the week July 25 through July 31, 2016. For the duration of the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club, Railroad Avenue on the Broad Street side of the Summit Train Station between Summit Avenue and Maple Street will be closed to all traffic. The Railroad Avenue taxi stand will be temporarily relocated to Union Place near Maple Street during this time period. Please allow extra time for travel to and from the Summit Train Station and around downtown Summit as increased traffic congestion in the area is anticipated.
Summit Police have suspended overnight parking rules on all streets in residential neighborhoods only. Overnight parking restrictions will remain in effect for the central business district. No permission to park overnight will be granted. Further, overnight parking restrictions will remain in effect for all municipal parking lots and parking garages.
