The Summit DCP has announced the 2016 Liberty Open Golf Championship will take place on Saturday, September 10 at 10AM at the Summit Municipal Golf Course (Muni), 189 River Road. Muni members with the top fifteen lowest scores collected between Monday, July 18 and Monday, September 5 will earn a spot to compete in the 2016 Championship.
The 2015 Liberty Open Champion, Tyler Walk of Summit, will return to compete in the 2016 Championship on September 10 for a chance to hold onto his title. All sixteen competitors will play two rounds of golf in order to determine the 2016 Champion. In the event of a tied score, a sudden death playoff beginning from the first hole will determine the champion.
Muni members must sign up with the Pro Shop Attendant in the Muni gatehouse and pay greens fees in order to be eligible to compete. Competitors must play with one other person in order to have score cards verified. Low scores will be posted in the gatehouse every Monday morning. Please note, if scores are tied, the score that was posted first will be accepted. All rules for the 2016 Liberty Open Golf Championship are posted online.
The Summit Muni is a Par 3, 9-hole executive course open to both residents and non-residents. More information about becoming a member with the Summit Muni can be found online at summitcommunityprograms.com.
