The 2026 Organization Meeting of the Summit Common Council will be held on Tuesday, January 6, at 7:30PM at City Hall, located at 512 Springfield Avenue. The meeting will be broadcast live on the City of Summit YouTube channel and HTTV Comcast channel 36 and Verizon channel 33. Members of the public are invited to attend.
At the meeting, Mayor Elizabeth Fagan will provide her State of the City Address. Ward 1 Councilmember-elect Jaclyn Lasaracina, Ward 2 Councilmember-elect Chantal Landman, and Councilmember-at-Large-elect Dan Crisafulli will be sworn in. Retiring councilmembers Delia Hamlet, Mike McTernan, and Kevin Smallwood will be recognized, as well as retiring board members. The 2026 mayoral and council appointments for city boards, commissions, and committees will also be announced at the meeting.
A welcome reception will be held at 7PM before the Organization Meeting in the main lobby outside Council Chamber at City Hall. If attending the reception, members of the public should RSVP by December 20 to cityclerk@cityofsummit.org or 908-277-9416.
