A sinkhole was discovered earlier today near a damaged manhole on Broad Street by the Summit Fire Department. City crews have assessed the area and are in the process of securing the necessary materials for repair.
As a result, eastbound Broad Street between Summit Avenue and Walnut Street is closed to traffic. The westbound lane will also be closed overnight, with crews aiming to reopen it by tomorrow morning. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes.
