[ARCHIVED] Employee Permit Parking in Summit During the Summer

Provided below is some helpful information regarding resident and employee parking in Summit during the summer.

With vacations and adjusted work schedules, parking in downtown Summit during the summer months is typically lighter, with Mondays and Fridays as the lightest parking days. While certain lots and garages typically fill up early in the morning, other lots around town remain available throughout the day with ample parking for permit holders.

Please note, we cannot guarantee space availability in a specific lot mentioned here; please use this as a helpful reference to find out where else you are able to park if a certain lot is already full by the time you arrive.

The parking lots available for permit parking include:

  • Elm Street Lot and Elm Street on-street parking: typically full by 8AM
  • Tier Garage (Springfield Ave): typically full by 9AM
  • Maple Street K-Lot (behind CVS): typically full by 10AM
  • Railroad Avenue Lot (behind the post office): typically full by 10AM
  • Chestnut Lot (next to the old firehouse)
  • Sampson Lot (next to LCJSMS)
  • Broad Street Garage
  • Broad Street East Lot (next to Broad Street Garage)

Employee permit parking is also available at on-street green bagged meters located at:

  • Beechwood Road (by Parmley Place)
  • Broad Street (by Salerno Duane)
  • Maple Street (next to the K-Lot)
  • Park Ave
  • Springfield Ave (by Irving Place)
  • Summit Ave (by Parmley Place)

Please keep in mind that certain factors can change parking availability including NJ Transit disruptions, weather conditions, and events taking place in town.
