At approximately 0945 hours, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, the Summit Police Department received a report of a residential burglary on Sunset Drive near Valley View Avenue. Initial investigation reveals the suspect(s) broke a rear glass door to gain entry sometime between the afternoon hours of Wednesday, May 21, 2025, and the time the report was taken. Neighbors are reporting a loud noise was heard between approximately 2:30-3:00am this morning; however, the police were not called at that time. Fortunately, there were no occupants inside the house at the time of the burglary and current proceeds include antique sterling silverware, unknown value.

Moving forward, residents should expect an increased police presence in the neighborhoods affected by the recent burglaries.
