On Friday, February 21, 2025, at approximately 09:26am the Summit Police Department responded to a residence on West End Avenue for a report of a burglary. Further investigation revealed that at approximately 07:41am a house-sitter arrived on scene to care for pets. At that time, a white, older-model Ford Econoline van with a possible Pennsylvania license plate can be seen parked, idling across the street near a vacant house under construction (see photo). After caring for the pets and checking the residence, the house-sitter left at 07:57am. At approximately 08:56am a male wearing dark colored pants and a utility vest can be seen walking down the driveway, next to the Ford van which was being operated by another suspect (see photo). The suspect(s) then proceeded to forcefully remove the electrical meter from the side of the house resulting in a power outage. Entry was made through a back door where the suspect(s) pushed in the windowpane of the back door. The suspect(s) then proceeded to ransack several areas of the house in search of valuables. At this time an inventory is being conducted and proceeds for the burglary are unknown. Lastly, nobody was home at the time and this incident does not appear to be related to the earlier burglary on Greenbriar Drive.

Please remain vigilant and report all suspicious activity. Anyone with information pertinent to this investigation is encouraged to contact the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau at (908)273-0051.
