Celebrate the holidays in Summit! Provided below is information on several upcoming events to take place in downtown Summit and the Summit Community Center.

Other Fellow First Foundation Frozen Turkey Drive

The Other Fellow First Foundation’s annual turkey drive will be held on Sunday, November 23, from 1PM to 4PM on Union Place in downtown Summit. All frozen turkeys, non-perishable food items, and monetary donations will benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. The event marks the 25^th anniversary of the foundation and will also feature police, fire, and EMS vehicles for attendees to explore, as well as children’s activities, music, and more. Thanksgiving Community Meal

The City of Summit’s annual community Thanksgiving meal will be held on Thursday, November 27, from 12PM to 2PM at the Community Center, located at 100 Morris Avenue. The catered meal will include roast turkey, traditional side dishes, pies, and other desserts, as well as coffee and a beverage service.

The event will also include a game of touch football, open gym activities, a Thanksgiving-themed family movie, and arts and crafts for children. The event is free and open to all community members. Pre-registration is not required. The Senior Connections Bus will provide transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Miracle on Elm Street and Holiday Tree Lighting

The annual Miracle on Elm Street event and holiday tree lighting will take place on Friday, November 28, from 1PM to 5:30PM on the Village Green, located at 356 Broad Street. Attendees can enjoy ice skating in the Elm Street parking lot, bonfires, hot beverages, cookie decorating, and musical performances.

The Summit Fire Department will escort Santa to the Village Green for the tree lighting with Mayor Fagan at 5PM, after which time attendees can take photos with Santa. Please contact the Department of Community Programs at 908-277-2932 with any questions.

Menorah Lighting

Congregation Ohr Shalom, Temple Sinai, and Congregation Beth Hatikvah will host the annual menorah lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 14, at 6PM on the Village Green. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Summit Downtown, Inc. Holiday Events

Summit Downtown, Inc. (SDI) will host the following events in November and December 2025:

• Small Business Saturday: November 29
• Carriages and Carolers: November 29 and December 6, 13, and 20
• HillTop Elf Scavenger Hunt: November 29 through December 20
• Celebrate in Summit: December 20
• Summit Farmers Market: Sundays through December 21 from 8AM to 1PM
