Union County has issued an Executive Order that immediately prohibits the operation of electronic bicycles, scooters, and other motorized vehicles in all County-owned parks and properties.
For Summit residents, this means that e-bikes and e-scooters are no longer allowed in Briant Park or any other County-managed recreational spaces.
The ban covers:
- Low-speed electric bicycles
- Motorized bicycles (e-bikes)
- Low-speed electric scooters
- Motorized scooters
These vehicles are prohibited from:
- Footbridges and trails
- Bridle paths and bicycle paths
- Lawns and wooded areas
- Parks, playgrounds, and other County-owned property
Union County personnel and local law enforcement will enforce the ban. County officials emphasized that this measure is an immediate step to improve safety while broader statewide regulations are being developed.
