The Summit Police Department is currently hiring for the position of School Crossing Guard for the 2025-2026 school year.

Crossing guards will work Monday-Friday from 7:45AM to 8:30AM and again from 3PM to 3:45PM on days school is in session. Uniforms and training are provided by the Summit Police Department. Individuals are eligible for an incentive bonus for those that maintain a perfect attendance during the school year.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, provide their own transportation to and from their crossing post, and be cleared through a background screening. Applications are available at the Police Department (512 Springfield Ave) and on the city website.
