Activity blotter April 7 to 20, 2025

04/07/2025 – At 0309 hours a 21-year-old male from Avenel was arrested by a neighboring police department for an outstanding warrant for burglary that occurred at a Maple Street business in July 2024. Summit Police subsequently took custody of the suspect, who was then processed and transported to Union County Jail with a pending court date.

04/08/2025—At 1326 hours a 48-year-old male from Monroe Township was arrested during a traffic stop for an outstanding warrant out of Wall Township. The defendant was processed and released with a pending municipal court date.

04/08/2025—At 1654 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Maple Street business. The victim stated that their wallet and keys were stolen from their desk sometime during the morning hours. The wallet contained multiple credit cards and $250.00.

04/09/2025—At 1544 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue business. The caller stated that sometime between 3/29/25 and 4/9/25 a garden sculpture was stolen from the property. The sculpture is valued at $200.00.

04/11/2025—At 1713 hours the Summit Police Department responded to a Deforest Avenue business for a report of an attempted theft. While searching the area, responding officers located the suspect, a 41-year-old woman from Manhattan, who was subsequently arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Westfield. The defendant was processed and released with a pending court date.

04/12/2025—At 2049 hours the Summit Police Department responded to a Summit Avenue business for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, officers located the 24-year-old male suspect from Summit, who was subsequently arrested and charged with shoplifting and possession of an open container. The defendant was processed and released with a pending municipal court date.

4/12/2025—At 2236 hours a 46-year-old male was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a motor vehicle crash. The defendant was processed and released with a pending municipal court date.

4/15/2025—At 2344 hours a 40-year-old male was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a motor vehicle crash. The defendant was processed and released with a pending municipal court date.
