The Summit Police Department is hosting a self-defense class for women ages 16 and up on Wednesday, October 9, from 6PM to 8PM at the Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School gymnasium, located at 272 Morris Avenue.
The class will provide valuable information for women on how to stay safe and protect themselves in dangerous situations. Participants will learn practical self-defense techniques that can be used in real-life scenarios. The class is designed for all fitness levels.
Advanced registration is required. To sign up for the class, please email your name, town of residence, and phone number to admin@spdnj.org. A waiver will be emailed back to you.
There is no cost for the program, but space is limited to 40 participants. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers (no open toed shoes) and bring a water bottle.
Please note, the Summit Police Department will be hosting an advanced self-defense class on November 13, 2024. Participation in the October 9 all-levels class, or a previously held class by the Summit Police Department, is a pre-requisite for participation in the advanced class. Registration details for the November class will be shared in the coming weeks.
