Activity blotter August 12 to August 25

08/14/2024—At 0700 hours a report was taken for a burglary into an unsecured motor vehicle parked at a Prospect Hill Avenue residence. The victim stated an unknown individual entered their vehicle and took their briefcase and iPad sometime during the overnight hours. The total amount of the theft was approximately $1600.

08/14/2024—At 1648 hours police units were dispatched to a Madison Avenue residence for a theft in progress. Units arrived on scene in search of the suspect but did not find the suspect. The victim stated a package was delivered and left on their porch; within minutes they observed a male wearing all black with a beige hat and mask run off with the package. Taken was a black iPhone 15 valued at $1200.

08/15/2024—John O’Gorman, 59, of Summit was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Mr. O’Gorman was processed and transported to Union County Jail with a pending Superior Court date.

08/15/2024—Uriy Debrin, 39, of Morristown was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Dover. Mr. Debrin was processed and released with a pending court date in Dover Municipal Court.

08/20/2024—Calvin Scott, 55, of Summit was arrested for warrants out of multiple jurisdictions. Mr. Scott was processed and released with multiple court dates.

08/21/2024—At 2115 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Bank Street business. The victim stated that earlier in the day at approximately 1828 hours, an unknown individual stole cash that was left on their office desk. Surveillance camera footage showed an unknown individual wearing a baseball cap and carrying a box of candy enter the business and leave moments later. Taken was approximately $1,000.
