Activity blotter July 29 to August 11

07/29/2024—Ryan Elliot, 23, of Summit was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence. Mr. Elliot was processed and released with a pending court date.

08/01/2024—Andriy Blyednov, 47, of Morristown was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and defiant trespassing. Mr. Blyednov was processed and transported to Union County Jail.

08/01/2024—At 1018 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Morris Avenue business. The victim stated their imposter Louis Vuitton tote bag was stolen from the establishment on 07/28/2024. The individual in question who had taken the tote bag was described as a heavy set, 60-year-old woman. She was believed to be about 5’8” tall with blonde hair. The total amount of the theft was approximately $200.

08/03/2024 – At 1130 hours two motor vehicles were reported stolen from the driveway of a Llewelyn Road residence. The theft occurred at 0230 hours the same date. Investigation disclosed that one of two suspects had initially entered the home through an unlocked first floor window while a second suspect remained outside. Once in the home the suspect located and removed the key fobs for two cars parked in the driveway of the residence. The stolen key fobs were then used by the suspects to start and subsequently drive off with both vehicles. A 2021 Porsche Taycan and a 2019 Mercedes Benz G-Series were stolen.

08/04/2024—Rene Gusta Hernandez, 26, of Summit was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest. Mr. Hernandez was processed and subsequently transported to Essex County Jail.

08/05/2024—At 1012 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Hobart Avenue residence. The victim stated on 08/03/2024 at approximately 1600 hours their construction crew completed their work for the day and left their yellow Caterpillar 289D compact track loader parked on the property with the keys inside. Upon returning on 08/05/2024 at 0800 hours they noticed the compact loader was taken. The total amount of the theft is approximately $90,000.
