On Sunday, August 4, 2024, at approximately 1527 hours Summit Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress at an Ashwood Court residence.

The female caller reported a Hispanic male, later identified as Rene Gustavo Hernandez, 28, of Summit, broke a portion of her fence before attempting to gain entry to her locked 2019 Subaru Forester parked outside her residence.
