Weekly blotter January 29 to February 11

01/31/2024—Lawrence Birotte, 23, of Newark was arrested and charged with creating a dangerous condition. Mr. Birotte was issued a pending court date.

02/01/2024—Haja Sannoh, 28, of New Brunswick was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Point Pleasant Beach Police Department. Ms. Sannoh was processed and transported to Point Pleasant Beach PD with a pending court date.

02/03/2024—At 0519 hours a report was taken for a stolen motor vehicle located at a Morris Avenue business. The victim stated they left their secured vehicle on 2/3/24 at 0030 hours and upon their return at 0500 hours their vehicle was missing. Taken was a red 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, value unknown.

02/04/2024—James Smith, 37, of Bayonne was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Mr. Smith was processed and released with a pending court date.

02/06/2024—Mario Garcia Sarmiento, 33, of Bayonne was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Mr. Garcia Sarmiento was processed and released with a pending court date.

02/08/2024—Marc Flores, 23, of Springfield was arrested and charged with simple assault. Mr. Flores was processed and released with a pending court date.

02/09/2024—Jaqwan Desormes, 25, of Elizabeth was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Kenilworth. Mr. Desormes was processed and released with a pending court date.

02/10/2024—At 1014 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Summit Avenue residence. The victim stated sometime during the overnight hours their front lawn sign was taken. The sign was valued at approximately $35.

02/10/2024—At 2141 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Springfield Avenue business. The victim stated their purse was stolen from the back of their chair without their knowledge between 1845 hours and 1930 hours on 2/10/24. The victim received a fraud alert via text message at 1945 hours, at which time they realized their purse was missing. Multiple credit cards, cash, and debit cards were taken.
