Weekly blotter December 4 to December 17

12/07/2023—At 2112 hours police were dispatched to an Ox Bow Lane residence for a residential burglary alarm. Upon arrival it was determined there was forced entry into the unoccupied home. While clearing the house, it was evident that a few rooms were entered and rummaged through. Taken was an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

12/08/2023—At 0802 hours police were dispatched to a Ridgedale Avenue residence for a report of an attempted theft from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that at 0453 hours on 12/8/23 a security camera captured three male suspects that walked up the driveway of the residence and pulled the door handles of two parked vehicles. Both vehicles were locked and the suspects were unsuccessful in their attempts; they fled the area in a dark colored SUV.

12/08/2023—At 2030 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Maple Street business. The victim stated that their Apple Air Pod Pros were taken from a bag that was left unattended between 1400 hours and 1730 hours on 12/7/23. The total amount of the theft was $250.

12/09/2023—Darwin Cortez-Aguilar, 39, of Summit was arrested and charged with simple assault. Mr. Cortez-Aguilar was processed and transported to Union County Jail with a pending court date.

12/12/2023—At 1900 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Beechwood Road residence. The victim stated that around 1445 hours they were notified that a package was delivered to their front door by UPS. When they arrived home to retrieve the package the box was opened and the item was missing. Taken was a Dyson vacuum cleaner valued at $500.

12/14/2023—At 1907 hours a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Valemont Way residence. The victim stated that a package was taken from their front porch at 1757 hours on 12/14/2023. Security camera footage shows a male approximately 5’9’’ tall, 170 pounds, wearing a baseball cap, light winter jacket and dark pants, place the package in his bag and vacate the area. Taken were two iPhone 15 Pro mobile phones, valued at $2000.

12/14/2023—Dominick Amaru, 56, of Roselle was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. Mr. Amaru was processed and transported to Union County Jail.

12/15/2023—Danielle O’Gorman, 60, of Summit was arrested and charged with simple assault. Ms. O’Gorman was processed and released with a pending court date.
