Please be advised

Since March 2020, NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid has followed special rules related to the COVID-19 public health emergency that have allowed most members to keep their health coverage even if they no longer met the normal program qualifications. Legislation was recently passed that says state Medicaid programs must return to following normal federal rules as of April 1, 2023.

NJ Family Care has re-started eligibility reviews, and all current members will be reviewed to see if they still quality for coverage. As part of this review process, members will receive renewal packets in the mail to be completed and returned. NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid will decide whether they still quality for healthcare coverage. Members who do not respond to NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid mail will lose their coverage.

The NJ Department of Human Services recommends that members call NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid at 1-800-701-0710 (TTY: 711) to update their contact information. This is especially important if they have moved in the last three years.
