Summit Police Department Blotter Weekly blotter July 4 to July 10, 2022

7/05/2022—At 0708 hours a report was taken for a theft of two motor vehicle from an Edison Drive residence. The victim stated they misplaced their keys on the night of July 4 and discovered in the morning hours both vehicles were missing. Taken was a black 2014 Dodge Durango, valued at $24,000 and a white 2018 Audi A5, valued at $32,000.

7/06/2022—At 0602 hours a report was taken for an attempted motor vehicle theft at a Morris Avenue business. While the victim was inside the business, they witnessed an unknown individual enter their vehicle that was left running. The victim ran outside and yelled at the individual to exit the car; the suspect fled the area.

7/06/2022—At 1109 hours a report was taken for a theft of a motor vehicle from a Tanglewood Drive residence. The victim stated the vehicle was taken during overnight hours between July 5 and July 6. Taken was a black 2021 BMW X5, valued at $60,000. It was not known at the time of the report if the victim left the key fob in the vehicle.

7/09/2022—Richard Roberts, 25, of Buffalo NY was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Mr. Roberts was processed and released with a court date.

7/10/2022—Michael Kneiss, 42, of Pittston Pennsylvania was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Mr. Kneiss was processed and moved to Union County Jail.
