Summit Common Council will be returning to in-person meetings at City Hall beginning on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Meetings will be broadcast live on the City of Summit YouTube channel and on Comcast Channel 36 and Verizon Channel 30.
Masks will be required for all meeting attendees unless speaking at the podium, and social distancing protocols will be followed except among individuals living in the same household.
“Virtual government is not a substitute for actual delivery of services,” explains Summit City Administrator Michael Rogers. “When gaps in technology and access to it can reduce accessibility for citizens, it is important for us to return to in-person meetings as soon as lessening COVID-19 restrictions allow.”
Rogers continues: “Summit will continue its live streaming of council meetings online and through cable television transmission.”
Until the state of emergency ends, citizens may make a public comment remotely by sending an email to cityclerk@cityofsummit.org . All comments must be received no later than 12PM on the day of the Common Council meeting.
Summit City Hall is located at 512 Springfield Ave. in Summit.
