[ARCHIVED] Summit Fire Department responds to Canoe Brook Parkway Structure Fire

The Summit Fire Department responded to a Canoe Brook Parkway residence after a report of smoke coming from a garage was received at 2:50PM on Monday, October 17. On arrival, the Fire Department found heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage area. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the attached garage and remove a classic car from the garage to prevent further damage. Minor smoke damage to the interior of the house was also reported.

The fire was declared under control at 3:23PM.

“Our firefighters made a quick stop and were able to effectively control the fire,” explains Summit Battalion Chief Paul Imbimbo. “The fire remained contained to the garage and there were no reported injuries to residents or firefighters.”

Summit Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Millburn, Springfield and Union Fire Departments.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Summit Fire Department investigation team.
