The City of Summit is announcing the milling and paving of roads in the Central Retail Business District (downtown) will begin on Tuesday, September 20 at 8PM and be completed by Monday, September 26, weather permitting. All work will be completed between the hours of 8PM and 6AM.
To accommodate the work on Springfield Avenue, the public parklet located in front of Tito’s Burritos & Wings and Batavia Café will be temporarily disassembled and restored the following week once work is complete.
This schedule is subject to change. The schedule for the remainder of the week is as follows:
Friday 9/23 beginning at 8PM
-Crews will be milling on Springfield Avenue from the Promenade to Kent Place Boulevard, Maple Street from Springfield Avenue to DeForest Avenue, and on Woodland Avenue from Springfield Avenue to DeForest Avenue.
-Crews will be paving Springfield Avenue from Waldron Avenue to Summit Avenue, Maple Street between the railroad bridge and Springfield Avenue, and Beechwood Road from Springfield Avenue to DeForest Avenue.
Monday 9/26 beginning at 8PM
-Crews will be paving Beechwood Road from Springfield Avenue to Union Place, Springfield Avenue from Summit Avenue to Maple Street, Maple Street from Springfield Avenue to DeForest Avenue.
Tuesday 9/27 beginning at 8PM
-Crews will be paving Springfield Avenue from Maple Street to Kent Place Boulevard and Woodland Avenue from Springfield Avenue to DeForest Avenue.
-Upon completion of the paving, the final striping will be scheduled, which will also take place at night.
The goal is for work to be completed by 6AM each morning. Temporary “No Parking” signs will be installed by mid-afternoon in the work zones. Please obey the parking restrictions or vehicles will be towed.
