Celebrate the holidays in Summit

The City of Summit is announcing the following holiday events taking place throughout November and December 2022.

The Department of Community Programs is hosting the tree lighting event on the Village Green on Tuesday, November 29, from 5PM to 7PM. Attendees can enjoy bonfires, hot chocolate, music, and marshmallow roasting. Santa will arrive at the Village Green at 5:30PM with help from the Summit Fire Department and assist Mayor Nora Radest with the tree lighting ceremony. Attendees can take photos with Santa after the tree lighting and enjoy the Rock'n'Raindeer musical act at 6PM.

The ice-skating portion of the Miracle on Elm Street event will take place on Friday, December 23 from 1PM to 6PM in the Elm Street parking lot located behind the Village Green. Attendees can enjoy free ice skating, music, bonfires, treats, and more. Please contact the Department of Community Programs at 908-277-2932 with any questions.

Temple Sinai, Congregation Beth Hatikvah, and Congregation Ohr Shalom are hosting the menorah lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 18, from 5PM to 6PM on the Village Green. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Summit Downtown, Inc. (SDI) will host a number of holiday events in November and December, including Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 26, horse and carriage rides on Saturdays in December, the HillTop Elf Scavenger Hunt, and Celebrate in Summit. The Summit Farmers Market has been extended to include Sundays December 4, 11, and 18 from 8AM to 12PM, in the Park & Shop Lot on the corner of Deforest Avenue and Woodland Avenue. The Farmers Market will be closed on Sunday, November 27 and Sunday, December 25. More information on these events is available at www.summitdowntown.org/events.
